SUN 18 SEPT 05
FRY CLUB COLTS 11
SHIRE ‘B’ 6
This
truly was one of THE most amazing games I have ever witnessed and with so much
happening on the pitch during 70 exhilarating minutes it will be impossible to
convey all that took place in this report. So sit back and take in what we will
all remember until the boys finish youth football.
We did
have a league appointed ref, a T Harris, who according to Dave Worlock (our
Secretary) could well be fictional as he does not appear to exist!! Anyway he
didn’t arrive so Richard Boulton took charge. The game
started with Frys creating the opening chances but it was Shire who snatched an
early lead. Frys came back with 2 quick goals only to concede a further 2
goals. And so the first half swayed from one lead to another
until we reached half time deservedly in front 5-4.
The
second half saw us accelerate ahead to 10-4 only for Shire to again pull 2
goals back before we finished the game with a final goal to win by an
incredible 11-6.
The
goal scorers were Mo Bouaziz (4), Bradley Monelle
(3), James Boulton (2), Oli
Randall (1) and Jordan Knight (1).
Overall the performance was very satisfying with good periods of pressure counting at the right time with goals.
The pick of the goals was Jordan Knights
30 yard chip and with an all round strong game, he deservedly won a very
difficult Man of the Match award.
This
was definitely the game where by most of the opportunities we created we
scored. Even so, we could have scored more and it was slightly disappointing to
concede six. A shame nobody videoed it!
